Quick answer: To resize an image, add one or more pictures and enter a width, height or percentage, or pick a ready-made size; keep proportions on to avoid stretching. All images get the same settings, can be downloaded as a ZIP and are never uploaded.
Change the width and height of photos and graphics: exact pixels, a percentage, or ready-made sizes. Crop to fill or fit the whole picture. Works on many images at once.

How to resize image
- Choose one or more images.
- Pick how to resize: preset size, pixels or percentage.
- For a different shape, choose crop to fill or fit with a background.
- Press Resize images, then download or send them.
Three ways to set the size
- Pixels: type a width, a height or both. With Keep proportions on, the image is scaled to fit inside the size you give without distortion; leave one box empty to size it automatically.
- Percentage: 50% halves the width and height, which cuts the pixel count (and usually the file size) to about a quarter.
- Preset size: common sizes such as Full HD 1920 × 1080, square 1080 × 1080 or A4 at 150 dpi.
When the shape changes: crop, fit or stretch
Resizing a 4:3 photo to a 16:9 or square size means the shapes do not match. You choose what happens:
- Crop to fill fills the whole frame and trims the edges, keeping the centre.
- Fit, blurred background shows the whole photo and fills the gaps with a soft, blurred copy of it, the look you see on social media.
- Fit, plain background shows the whole photo on white.
- Stretch forces the image into the frame; people will look squashed, so use it only for textures and patterns.
Quality matters when shrinking
Big reductions are done in several halving steps with high-quality smoothing, which avoids the jagged edges and shimmering patterns quick resizers produce. Enlarging is possible too, but cannot add detail: a small image scaled up will look soft.
Resized images are saved in their original format unless you choose another, and location data is not copied into the result. For social networks, use the ready-made pages for Instagram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and YouTube thumbnails. To shrink the file size rather than the dimensions, see Compress image.

Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image without distorting it?
Keep “Keep proportions” on and enter a width or height, or use a preset with Crop to fill or one of the Fit options.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. All images get the same settings, and you can download them as a ZIP.
Will resizing reduce the file size?
Making an image smaller in pixels almost always makes the file smaller too, often dramatically.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. They are resized in your browser on your device.
