Client Proofing for Photographers and Video Editors

Selecting photos over WhatsApp and collecting video notes by email is slow and messy. Client review turns a download link into a proofing gallery: favourites, timed comments and a clear approve button.

Quick answer: To send photos or videos for client review: upload them, open More options and tick "Client review". The client opens the link, hearts their favourite photos, comments on any photo or at the exact second of a video, and finally clicks Approve or Request changes. You get an email with their decision and see every favourite and comment on your Transfers page. Free, no account needed for you or the client.

How client review works

  1. Upload the edited photos or the video cut, in original quality (up to 20 GB).
  2. Open More options and tick Client review. Tick Email me updates to hear about decisions as they come.
  3. Send the link. Your client opens it on a phone or computer, no account needed.
  4. They tap the heart on files they like, open a file to add comments ("crop tighter", "brighter skin"), and on videos a comment is pinned to the exact second they paused at.
  5. When done they press Approve or Request changes with a note.
  6. You see favourites, comments and the decision on your Transfers page.

Pair it with view only before payment

Tick View only as well and the client can review watermarked previews without downloading full-resolution files. Once they approve and pay, send the final files on a normal link. Add your name and logo with Brand the download page so the gallery looks like your studio's.

Frequently asked questions

Does my client need an account to comment?

No. They open the link, heart, comment and approve. They can add their name so you know who said what.

Can clients comment on a specific moment in a video?

Yes. Pausing and commenting pins the note to that second; you can jump straight to it.

How do I get the list of selected photos?

Your Transfers page lists every favourite with its file name, ready to copy into Lightroom or your editor.

Can the client download the photos?

Yes, unless you also tick View only. Then they can review watermarked previews but not download.

Is client proofing free?

Yes, for up to 1000 files and 20 GB per transfer.
