How to flip video
- Choose or drop the video.
- Pick Mirror (left ↔ right) or Upside down; the preview shows the result.
- Add a rotation too if the video is also sideways.
- Press Flip video, check it, then download or send it.
Mirror or upside down
- Mirror swaps left and right: backwards text becomes readable, and a selfie looks the way others see you.
- Upside down swaps top and bottom, for cameras mounted upside down (dash cams, ceiling mounts).
Only the picture is flipped; the sound is kept as it is.
Why flipping re-encodes
A plain rotation can be stored as a flag in the file, but a mirror flag is ignored by many players and platforms. So the flip is written into the pixels: the video is decoded and encoded again at a high bitrate, at about real time on a phone and faster on a computer. MP4 stays MP4 and WebM stays WebM.
