Quick answer: To trim a video, play it, set the start and end and download the clip. Fast mode copies the video without re-encoding, so the quality is identical but cuts land on a key frame; Frame-exact mode cuts on the exact frame. It runs in your browser.
Keep only the part you need. Play the video, set the start and end, and get the clip in seconds: the video is copied, not re-encoded, so the quality stays exactly the same.

How to trim video
- Choose or drop your video.
- Play it and press “Use current position” for the start and the end, or type the times.
- Keep Fast, or choose Frame-exact for a precise first frame.
- Press Trim video, check the clip on the page, then download or send it.
Fast or frame-exact
Videos are stored as key frames (complete pictures) followed by frames that only store changes. A cut without re-encoding has to start on a key frame, which in phone videos comes every one or two seconds.
- Fast copies the video: no quality loss, done in seconds even for large files. The clip may start slightly before your start time, at the previous key frame; the result tells you by how much.
- Frame-exact re-encodes the clip so it begins exactly where you asked. It takes longer, about real time on a phone.
Same format out
An MP4 stays an MP4, a MOV stays a MOV and a WebM stays a WebM, with the sound kept. Trimming is also the quickest way to make a video small enough to share: cutting a ten-minute recording to the one minute that matters makes it about ten times smaller with no loss at all. To shrink it further, use Compress video.
Private and offline-ready

Frequently asked questions
Does trimming reduce the quality?
Not in Fast mode: the video and sound are copied as they are. Frame-exact mode re-encodes at a high bitrate that looks the same.
Why does my clip start a moment early?
Fast mode can only cut on a key frame. Choose Frame-exact if the clip must start on an exact frame.
Can I trim a video on my phone?
Yes, in Safari 17 or newer on iPhone and in Chrome on Android. Fast mode is quick even on phones.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It is trimmed on your device.
