How to unzip files

  1. Choose or drop the ZIP file; the list of files inside appears at once.
  2. Leave “Skip system files” on to hide __MACOSX and .DS_Store clutter.
  3. Press Extract files.
  4. Save single files, download them all, or send them with a link.

Fast, even for large ZIPs

The tool reads the ZIP's table of contents first, so you see the files in a moment, then unpacks each one using your browser's built-in decompression. Files that were stored without compression are simply cut out of the ZIP, which is instant. Every file is checked against its checksum, so a damaged download is reported instead of giving you broken files.

What can be opened

  • Standard ZIP files from Windows, macOS, Linux, phones and most apps, including large ZIP64 archives.
  • Password-protected ZIPs, with AES-256 or classic ZIP encryption: the tool asks for the password.
  • Not here: RAR, 7z, TAR and ISO archives; open those with Extract RAR.

Folders inside the ZIP are shown next to each file name; the files are saved individually.

Pass the files on

Received a ZIP but the person you are forwarding to needs only a few files? Extract it here, then use Send with a link: the files go into a new transfer, free up to 20 GB, without downloading and re-uploading by hand. To make a new ZIP instead, use Zip files.
