Why RAR files will not open
RAR is a compressed archive format made by the authors of WinRAR. Unlike ZIP, most computers and phones cannot open it out of the box: Windows only added RAR support to File Explorer in Windows 11 (2023), macOS's Archive Utility does not read RAR, and iPhones and Android phones need an extra app. This page opens it with libarchive, the open-source archive library used by many operating systems, running inside your browser.
