# Merge Videos (Video Joiner)

Put clips together into one video: drag them into order and press Merge. Clips from the same camera or phone are joined in seconds without re-encoding; different clips are scaled to one size automatically.

## How to use it

1. Choose or drop two or more videos.
2. Drag them (or use the arrows) into the order they should play.
3. Check the note: same format joins instantly; otherwise pick the size and how to handle other shapes.
4. Press Merge videos, watch the result on the page, then download it or send it with a link.

## Instant when the clips match

Clips recorded with the same phone or camera settings share the same format, size and encoder settings. The tool checks this and, when they match, copies the compressed frames one after another into a new file: no re-encoding, no quality loss, and it takes seconds even for gigabytes. The note under the list tells you which path your clips take.

## Different sizes, shapes or formats

A portrait phone clip and a landscape screen recording can still be joined. Then every clip is decoded and encoded again as H.264 MP4 at one size (the first clip's, or 1080p or 720p):

- **Black bars** shows every clip whole.
- **Fill** crops the edges so the frame is always full.

Clips without sound get silence, so picture and sound stay in sync. Re-encoding runs at about real time on a phone and faster on a computer.

## Before and after

Cut the start and end of each clip first with [Trim video](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/tools/trim-video), put music under the result with [Add audio to video](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/tools/add-audio-to-video), and make it smaller for sharing with [Compress video](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/tools/compress-video). Everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded until you choose to send the result.
