# A TeraBox Alternative for Sharing Large Files

TeraBox is best known for its very large free cloud storage. If what you actually need is to hand someone a big file quickly, a transfer link may be the simpler tool. Here is an honest comparison.

**Quick answer:** Share Large Files Free is a TeraBox alternative for sending, not storing: up to 20 GB per transfer, no account or app for you or your recipients, original quality, and links that delete themselves after 1 day. TeraBox gives a large amount of free cloud storage with an account, which suits keeping files long term.

## What TeraBox does well

TeraBox offers a very large free storage allowance (1 TB at the time of writing) once you create an account, with apps for phones and computers and automatic photo backup. For keeping a big personal archive for free, that is hard to beat. Its free plan is supported by ads, and some features, such as faster speeds and larger uploads, are part of its paid plans. Check TeraBox's own pages for current plans and limits.

## Why you might choose us for sending

- **No account, no app:** neither you nor the person receiving signs up or installs anything.
- **A plain download page:** recipients open the link in any browser and download the original file.
- **Nothing left behind:** transfers expire after 1 day and are deleted, so files do not sit in a cloud account for years.
- **Controls built for sharing:** passwords, [download limits](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/limit-downloads), [download alerts](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/file-download-tracking) and [replacing a file](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/replace-file-after-sending) after sending.

## Privacy and where files live

Whichever service you use, read its privacy policy and consider what you are uploading. With cloud storage, files stay until you delete them, so review old shared links from time to time. Here every transfer is deleted after it expires, and you can delete it earlier from your [Transfers page](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/history). For very sensitive material, see our [security page](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/security) for what we do and do not offer.

Need permanent storage rather than a one-off transfer? A cloud drive is the right tool; our [Google Drive comparison](https://sharelargefilesfree.com/google-drive-alternative) explains the difference.
